ABOUT CAPSULA
Fuelled by heavy psych, psychedelia, garage, and post-punk, CAPSULA have carved a visionary and magnetic path through the landscape of international rock.
Throughout their career, CAPSULA has performed over a thousand shows across Europe, the United States, South America, and Asia, leaving their mark on major festivals such as Primavera Sound (Spain), Austin Psych Fest (USA), and SXSW. They’ve shared stages with legends like Iggy Pop and Pearl Jam, channeling raw electricity and forging an unbreakable bond with their audience.
Albums like Rising Mountains (BCore, 2009), produced by Ivan Julian (Richard Hell and the Voidoids), and In the Land of Silver Souls (BCore, 2011), produced by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.), received critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and Little Steven’s Underground Garage, where their track "Wild Fascination" was chosen as the “Coolest Song in the World.”
In 2013, they released Solar Secrets, produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie’s producer), an album that marked a turning point and captured the band’s cosmic, untamed essence.
They have also performed multiple live sessions at the legendary KEXP Radio in Seattle, where their raw, electrifying energy left a lasting impression on both listeners and crew.
Between 2016 and 2019, Capsula teamed up with the French label Vicious Circle, releasing three records that expanded their sonic universe: Santa Rosa (2016), Dreaming of Ziggy (2017), and Bestiarium (2019).
The label —home to bands like Slift and Mars Red Sky— was the perfect partner for a period of creative explosion. Those were years of touring, fuzz, delay, and psychedelia: a journey that pushed the band’s sound further, exploring new mental territories and testing their energy to the limit on every stage.
In 2022, the band embraced full independence with Phantasmaville, recorded and produced in their own studio and label —a new milestone in their artistic evolution.
Their most recent album, Primitivo Astral (2024), received widespread international acclaim:
Rock & Folk praised it as “a rock sound with no equivalent today” (☆☆☆☆), while Clash Magazine described it as “a psychedelic journey blending influences from the ’60s and ’70s.”
Louder Than War called it “impulsive, hypnotic, and vibrant,” and It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine noted that Primitivo Astral “tapped into something ancient and cosmic.”
